Credit Card Compare

Data accuracy

When you compare credit cards, the rate, the fees and the rewards have to be right. Here's how we keep the numbers on Credit Card Compare accurate.

A wrong number is worse than no number, so we treat the accuracy of our card data as the core of what we do. Every card we list is fact checked against authoritative sources before it goes live, and kept up to date as products change.

Where our information comes from

We build each card's details from the bank itself: the card pages, fee schedules and terms a bank publishes for its own products. Each card links to the pages its figures came from and shows when we last checked them.

How we check it

Our editorial team reviews the figures and cross-checks them against the source. Where more than one source covers the same product, we compare them and settle any difference back to what the issuer discloses. Card details are reviewed by people, not published unchecked.

Keeping it current

Products change. Banks adjust rates, revise fees and retire offers, and we update our data as those changes come through. Where a change slips past us, the source documents we point to remain the final word.

Always confirm before you apply

We keep our information accurate, but it may not reflect every term of a product, and details can change without notice. Before you apply, confirm the rate, fees and conditions with the provider and read the relevant disclosure documents.
